As per Google AdWords updates in October 2017, Adwords can now spend twice your daily budget on any particular day but overall monthly spending will remain the same.
The Logic behind this was to capture high-quality traffic any day and get more clicks.
On days with lots of high quality traffic, your costs could be up to 2 times your daily budget.
It may not affect most of the regular advertiser but it can be very challenging for people who do not run campaign on daily basis.
Take an example of an advertiser who wants to run a campaign just for 1 day for any events with a daily budget of $500.
So Google has the flexibility to spend a budget of up to $1000 (twice) because google considers him to advertise for the whole month for a budget of $15,200 ($500*30.4).
This is a challenge for such an occasional advertiser who has to pay twice to google. Or we can say that Google is just blocking the money and increasing its revenue or forcing the people to use AdWords more and more. Earlier this limit was just 20% extra of the total budget. Here is what google says:
Starting October 4, 2017, campaigns will be able to spend up to twice the average daily budget to help you reach your advertising goals, like clicks and conversions. On days with lots of high quality traffic, your costs could be up to 2 times your daily budget. This spending is balanced by days when your spend is below your daily budget.Keep in mind, you won’t be charged more than your monthly charging limit: the average number of days in a month (30.4) multiplied by your average daily budget.
We think Google should rollback this update and being one of the top PPC agencies in Delhi, we tried informing our clients about the update through this article.
